10 Year Anniversary Dinner
On Nov 28th 2012, with over 100 people we celebrated 10 years of success! We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all those who attended and to all of our silent auction donees. Bike Fix Station Opening Ceremony Sept 27th, 2012
The Bike Fix Station is located at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Stanley St; where the Kinsmen bike path and the Kate Pace Way meet in Lee Park.
The Bike Fix Station Public Work Stand is a free to use bike repair stand that caters to the needs of the urban cyclist. Aircraft cable permanently tethers eight common bicycle tools. Its composed of a work station, hand air pump and a QR code to online instructions.
Additionally, the Bike Fix Station Public Work Stand is an element of the soon to be launched Chippewa EcoPath, a community initiative to restore and enhance natural values and heritage of the creek through stewardship and education. The EcoPath, funded by RBC Bluewater Project will highlight the history, ecosystem and stewardship of the creek through interpra-desks, website and kiosks.
Biking is a great way to exercise while helping the environment. You will reduce your carbon emissions and prevent run off and water contamination from gas and oil drops or spills.
Mountain Equipment Cooperative’s Access and Activity Grant 2012 graciously supported this project with funds to purchase the Bike Fix Sation Public Work Stand.
Greening Nipissing would like to thank all of their partners including Greenspace North Bay,Nipissing Environment Watch, the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority, Chippewa EcoPath Steering Committee, and City of North Bay Parks and Recreation Department for their support of this project

“Swap ‘Till You Drop” a Huge Success
“Swap ‘Till You Drop” was a huge success! The event, sponsored and hosted by LiquidTech and Greening Nipissing was held as a part of Kia’s Drive Change program. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Lane family and the community at this great event. Overall, we managed to raise $827.30 for James Lane and his family as well as reusing and recycling a huge amount of great items through the junk swap.
The event kept many items out of the landfill and raised money for a great cause. The day was packed with fun, excitement and generous and amazing members of the community. We are very grateful to all of those who supported the junk swap and came out to the event, and we hope you are all enjoying your newly swapped items!

Pet Waste Digester Workshop April 28th, 2012
Greening Nipissing and the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority partnered to offer a hands workshop on how to make pet waste composters at the NBMCA natural classroom. Participants at this workshop learned how dog waste left on the ground contaminates our waters every time it rains, as it gets swept up into the storm sewer drains and out into Lake Nipissing.
