World Water Day Festival 2012 _ Reg Package
March 22nd is international world water day. To celebrate the beauty, sanctity, necessity and protection of our water, Greening Nipissing is hosting a World Water Day fest on Saturday, March 24th at the Gymnasium of St. Andrews United Church, 399 Cassells St. from 1pm until 4pm.
The purpose of this event is to promote the importance of water education, quality, conservation, and appreciation through art displays, informational booths, family activities and music! This is meant to be a fun afternoon that will inspire any individual to foster a deeper connection with their water.
We would also like to create a water fair that showcases organizations, products, services, technology and programs which can make our lives more environmentally friendly, healthy and sustainable. Products and services that are local, organic, non toxic, and fair trade are appropriate for this event.
I would like to invite your organization, artisan or merchant business to be a part of this event. You will find a registration form attached. We are presently seeking organizations and individuals who are interested in doing one or more of the following on the day of:
1) Having an informational booth
2) Setting up an art display with a water theme
3) Providing a short 20 minute workshop/activity on water
4) Playing music
There is no fee for not-for profit organizations, however donations to honour the space will be accepted. If you are an artist who would like to display water themed art, there is no fee. If you would like to display and sell art, the vendor fee applies. The fee for all vendors is $25.00, cheques payable to Greening Nipissing. Cheques must accompany your registration form in order that your table be reserved. Space is limited so registration forms will be date stamped and numbers as they are received. First come First Served. I ask that all organizations whether you are involved with the organizational committee or not ensure that they submit a registration form as soon as you can. All registration forms are due by Thursday, March 22 2012.
This event is free for members of the public. All are encouraged to carpool, walk, bike, or bus to this event as well as to bring your own mug and food utensils!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
