 o “This summer Greening Nipissing’s main focus is on water conservation. In June, Greening Nipissing presented their “Well Awareness” program at a community education workshop in Callander. This program was received with very positive responses from the community. Recently Greening Nipissing’s Project Director, Desiree Ducharme, became a certified Water Guide and has been conducting confidential on-site well assessments to all interested well-owners. These assessments are confidential and strictly for the owner’s benefit. This program will be running throughout the summer. Rain Barrel Workshop
“In accordance to Greening Nipissing focus on water conservation, Greening Nipissing also hosted their first, “Make Your Own Rain Barrel” this June. The workshop was led by Mike Puccini and Greening Nipissing volunteers who assisted over 20 participants built 30 rain barrels. In response to the huge success of this workshop, a waiting list has been started for a potential second workshop sometime this summer.
