Environmental Education Program
This program as designed according to the Grade 5/6 science and technology curriculum; energy and conservation. Lessons plans are conducted with primary grades on the following topics:
  • Renewable/Non-renewable energy
  • Waste Management
  • Ecosystems, Wetlands, and Wildlife
  • What it means to Buy Local
This year Greening Nipissing visited 19 classrooms, and provided vermicomposters to 3 schools!
Well Aware Program
A Green Communities Canada program that educates well owners on proper well maintenance and groundwater protection through individual well assessments, community forums and educational materials.
Water Conservation/Stormwater Management Program
Facilitated through Green Communities Canada, this program educates homeowners on how to properly maintain rain water on their property. A pilot project was delivered in Fall of 2009. Greening Nipissing is currently working towards expanding this project.
EcoDriver
A project facilitated by Green Communities Canada, and delivered locally by Greening Nipissing in 2008-2009. EcoDriver has three main components: 1) Driving Efficiently, 2) Driving Less, and 3) Buying Efficiently.
Greening Screenings
In partnership with a local EcoShop, Hibou Boutique, environmental documentaries are shown to promote green action and education in our community.
